The conception of this piece was in one of those moments when a design arrives, apparently from nowhere, yet fully
formed in ones mind. Despite the technical difficulties involved with such a large and heavy piece of
furniture, I knew I had to make this bench. I find the simplicity of design and the humour of using garden tools
as a resting place an irresistible combination. The sleek and shiny stainless steel seat backs are a striking
contrast to the huge pieces of timber that make the seat and legs. The timber is weatherproofed
with wood oil and the stainless steel back rests are maintenance free.
